In June, the DC History Center, Rainbow History Project’s archival partner, hosted three U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen as interns working exclusively on the RHP collection, held at the DC History Center. Twice a week, the interns–Hannah Nunes, Caroline Bilbray-Kohn and Brahmir Vick–were onsite to process RHP’s SYMAL archives. The balance of their time was spent transcribing and creating searchable abstracts for more than 25 oral histories in Rainbow History’s digital collection. The three interns’ month of full-time work made a significant impact on making RHP’s archives more accessible.
